My approach to editing is based in the nuts and bolts of the craft. Fiction writers only have a handful of techniques available to them. I approach editing from this standpoint: how are the pieces of your writing working together to create a greater whole?

Be it an entire novel or a thousand-word story, I’m happy to help. Wherever you’re at, that’s where I’d like to meet you.

I take a personal approach to editing. I will not try to rewrite your story, but I will strive to help you realize the full potential of your story (or novel).

  • Comprehensive feedback to strengthen your manuscript.

    You’ve finished your novel—congratulations! That’s no small feat. If you’re unsure how to take your draft to the next level, a developmental edit may be the right next step.

    This service offers a deep dive into your manuscript. You’ll receive in-line comments throughout, along with a comprehensive editorial report addressing key elements such as character development, pacing, stakes, dialogue, world-building, and overall structure.

  • Line & Copy Edits

    This service includes a comprehensive line edit addressing grammar, typos, sentence structure, tense, subject-verb agreement, repetition, overused words or phrases, consistency in spelling and punctuation, dialogue tag accuracy, and word choice. Think of me as a bloodhound for errors. You’ll receive your manuscript with a detailed style sheet outlining consistency choices, general feedback, and a few encouraging notes for your writing journey.

    I edit full-length manuscripts, memoirs, short stories, blogs, journal articles, and more.
